Yearling Training
At one year of age, we continue with the firm but gentle ground-work started at birth. We acquaint our horses with a saddle by letting them carry it on their back while on a lead rope. At this time they also carry a bit, are exposed to big crinkly tarps and to things that 'blow' around and make noise. We also ground drive the yearlings to familiarize them with the feel of reins and pressure on their sides. |
