Foal Training
We 'imprint' our foals beginning with the first minutes of the foal's life. When the foal has successfully made the transition from the mother's womb to the outside world, we are there before they stand for the firt time to familiarize them with experiences they will encounter throughout their lives. The foal becomes very comfortable with: having every part of their body touched, plastic bags, electric clippers, having their feet handled and patted on the bottoms, spray bottles, being palpated, having their inner ears and inside their nostrils touched, and having the 'bars' of their mouths desensitized to the feel of pressure. These experiences create a horse that will always be comfortable with human contact. |
